Shane Warne asks Matt Prior to behave after he renews bad blood

The ongoing Ashes has indeed turned out to be an interesting series with both England and Australia tied at 1-1 in the five-match series. Australia won the opening encounter at Edgbaston by a mammoth 251 runs, they then showed some solid resistance with the bat as the second Test at Lord's ended in a stalemate. The Australians almost had the third Test in the bag but, a herculean effort from Ben Stokes ensured that the hosts had the last laugh at Headingley. The fourth Test will be played at the Old Trafford in Manchester on September 4. However, after the third Test, there was a social media fight between two former players one from Australia and the other from England. Coincidentally, the duo have played each other in the Ashes series. They are Shane Warne and Matt Prior.
Shane Warne lashes out at Matt Prior for taunting Nathan Lyon
Nathan Lyon had a forgettable day on Sunday where the Australians snatched defeat from jaws of victory. Lyon first missed a simple run out chance of Jack Leach at the non-striker's end when he failed to collect the ball while attempting to dislodge the bails. On the very next delivery, Lyon had Ben Stokes plumb in front of the wicket. Nonetheless, the decision was ruled against Australia's favour by umpire Joel Wilson. The Australians, unfortunately, had no review left but the replays showed that the batsman would have been out. England had lost their nine wickets and needed two runs to win when this happened. After the match, former England wicket-keeper batsman Matt Prior decided to rub salt on Nathan Lyon's wounds. Matt Prior took to social media and took a jibe at the off-spinner.
This did not go down well with Shane Warne and he lashed out Matt Prior by saying that just because Lyon had knocked him over for fun there was still no need for that kind of silly and immature behaviour. Shane Warne then urged him to grow up and that he has had enough of those stupid comments. Shane Warne then requested that the wonderful game of Test cricket and Ashes should be celebrated.

The rift between Matt Prior and Nathan Lyon
Both Prior and Lyon share a bitter relationship with each other and hence the former had taken a dig at the latter when the Australian off-spinner had a bad day at the office. Their rift goes back to the 2013/14 Ashes series. It so happened that Matt Prior was dropped from the English team for the fourth as well as fifth Test matches respectively due to lack of form. But, the Australian spinner had stated that the then English stumper was scared when it came to facing Mitchell Johnson, who was in the form of his life.
