Sagar Trivedi dismisses Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dube and Suryakumar Yadav in a spell
In spite of Puducherry’s defeat, one of the highlights of the match was the performance of their fast bowler Sagar Trivedi. Trivedi bowled the last over of Mumbai’s innings which yielded only five runs. Additionally, Trivedi also scalped the wickets of three experienced Mumbai batsmen in a span of those six deliveries. He dismissed Mumbai skipper Suryakumar Yadav off the first ball of the over and followed it up by dismissing Siddhesh Lad off the very next ball. He then dismissed Shivam Dube off the last ball of the innings to scalp his third wicket of the over. Earlier in the innings, Trivedi also accounted for the dismissal of Team India’s limited-overs specialist batsmen Shreyas Iyer. Altogether, the right-arm pacer finished with match figures of 4-0-29-4.
The Mumbai unit will now face Bengal at the same venue while Puducherry will face Haryana at the Bandra Kurla Complex. Both matches are scheduled for November 14 and will start at 10:00 AM and 9:30 AM respectively. With another victory, Mumbai will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run in the tournament. Meanwhile, the Damodaren Rohit-led Puducherry side will be looking to register those crucial four points against Haryana after today’s defeat. Puducherry are currently placed fourth on the points table with two wins and one defeat out of their four matches. Their opening match against Madhya Pradesh ended in a no-result.
