Sourav Ganguly likely to make India embrace Day-Night Test matches
Sourav Ganguly feels that the Day-Night game has a good future ahead and this Indian team under the leadership of Virat Kohli has the ability to do well in it.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to embrace Day-Night Test matches which was introduced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) a few years ago. While Australia, England, West Indies and Pakistan have played the longest format of the game under floodlights on special occasions, Team India is yet to feature in such a contest. However, India is set to join this list as the BCCI President-elect Sourav Ganguly is a supporter of Day-Night Test matches himself.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Day-Night Test
The former India skipper has always been vocal about adopting the format with the World Test Championship having the option of teams organizing day-night games. Speaking to a leading online news portal, Ganguly has made it clear that discussing the idea of the Indian team playing pink-ball cricket would definitely be on the top of his to-do-list once he comes into power officially.
Last year, India had refused to play the Day-Night Test match when they toured Australia. While Team India head coach Ravi Shastri had agreed to play day-night Tests against West Indies last year, he had decided to pull the plug on the idea on the 11th hour after informing the Committee of Administrators (CoA) that the team wasn’t ready to play with the pink ball under lights.

Ganguly also feels that the day-night game has a long future and this Indian team under Virat Kohli has the ability to do well in the format. He said that there is no difference in Day-Night Test matches and regular Test matches, it is just a different ball which comes into play.
Sourav Ganguly on war with the ICC
Earlier, Ganguly said that BCCI needs to be back to where it belongs in the ICC. He said that BCCI is so important to the ICC since it not only generates the funds; which is one part but the popularity of the game matters. India is unbelievable and has a huge role to play in the ICC and the board needs to be respected, which at the moment is not happening.
