South Africa has has cites fatigue as the reason for not playing three Twenty20s in Pakistan next month.
“Managing player workload is a top priority for any cricket board, and from that perspective, their decision is understandable,” Pakistan Cricket Board chief executive Wasim Khan said in a statement on Friday.
The PCB had already proposed Rawalpindi as the venue for the series to the CSA and was also expecting a security official from South Africa to visit Pakistan during the PSL tournament, starting next week.
Khan said that the CSA has assured the PCB it would honor the commitment of sending their team to Pakistan as soon as it is reasonably possible.
“We are pleased that the CSA remains committed to rescheduling this short series ... both the boards are now exploring their Future Tour Programs to find gaps so that we can agree on the dates,” Khan said.
South Africa is presently hosting Twenty20s at home against England. Next week, South Africa will be touring Australia for three Twenty20s and as many one-day internationals and then they are scheduled to go to India for three ODIs, starting March 12.
