Stuart Broad will retire from all forms of cricket following the completion of this ongoing Ashes series against Australia, the fast bowler announced.
Stuart Broad stunned the cricket fraternity as he announced that this fifth and final Ashes Test at the Oval would be his last in the England shirt. The 37 year old has had a distinguished Three Lions career having amassed 602 wickets in his tally and he will end as the 5th highest wicket-taker in Test matches. His fellow England pacer James Anderson is only the other fast bowler to have grabbed a place in the top five.

Broad let his decision known after the stumps on the third day as the bowler aid this Test match will be his last game as an England player. “Tomorrow or Monday will be my last game of cricket.

“It’s been a wonderful ride, a huge privilege to wear the Nottinghamshire and England badge as much as I have.
“I’m loving cricket as much as I have. It’s been a wonderful series to be part of and I’ve always wanted to finish at the top. This series just feels like it’s been one of the most enjoyable and entertaining that I’ve been part of," Broad said to Sky Sports.

Stuart Broad was given a 'Guard of Honour' by the Australian side

Broad has picked up 20 wickets in this Ashes series so far, including two vital scalps in this Test and he is likely to finish his career on a high note.
