'Superhero' Rohit Sharma's epic response to Netflix is winning the Internet

India's Rohit Sharma has had an unforgettable year notching up runs and victories like few before him. The Indian opener has given fans tons of memories to cherish, including winning the IPL four times and a dream run in the ICC World Cup 2019 where he amassed 5 centuries. November 13, is one such date, which has been etched into the memories of fans as Rohit Sharma proudly bagged the 'Hitman' title on this date. It was on November 13, 2014, that Rohit Sharma scored his highest score of 264 runs which continues to be the highest score in the 50-overs format to date. While fans across the globe re-visited his spectacular show on Wednesday, Netflix also joined in. However, Rohit Sharma's response was one to invite more speculation.

Netflix's throwback to Rohit's 264

On Wednesday, streaming platform Netflix took to Twitter to remember Rohit Sharma's brilliant 264-run knock. The tweet shared by Netflix read, "Someone make a superhero series about Rohit Sharma's 264 where all his sixes hit someone in the ground and they get superpowers. 10/10 would watch." However, that is not just it. Rohit Sharma was pretty quick to reply to Netflix's tweet and responded by saying, "Coming Soon.." The tweet by Rohit Sharma was enough to leave the fans speculating of a probable series produced by Netflix featuring Rohit Sharma. Here's the tweet: 

Dropped on 4, went on to make 264

Rohit Sharma had smashed the Sri Lankan bowlers to all corners of the ground during that match which was played at the iconic Eden Gardens. However, before the 'Hitman' could register what is now a world record score in ODI cricket, he was given a lifeline early on. The stylish opening batsman was dropped when he was batting on 4 by Thisara Perera who was stationed at third man off Shaminda Eranga. Unfortunately, for the Lankans, they had no clue back then about how costly it was going to prove for them. The Mumbai batsman obliged by dealing in boundaries as the Sri Lankan bowlers failed to rediscover their rhythm. Sharma went on to score a 173-ball 264 at a strike rate of 152.60 including 33 boundaries and nine maximums.
