Team India on the cusp of creating world record, will leave Pakistan behind in unique list
The Indian cricket team will walk on the ground against Ireland in the third T20I match to register yet another whitewash in T20Is
The Indian cricket team led by Jasprit Bumrah will walk on the field in the third T20I against Ireland, to defeat the hosts, and register a whitewash in the shortest format of international cricket. The visitors have already sealed the series, after winning the second match by 33 runs.

Ahead of the IND vs IRE 3rd T20I match, the Indian cricket team led by Jasprit Bumrah is on the brink of leaving behind Pakistan in a very unique. If Team India is able to win the third T20I match against the Irish team, this will be the ninth time when the 'Men in Blue' will whitewash the opposition in a three-match T20I series or more since 2016.

The first time the Indian team whitewashed a team in a three or match T20I series was in the year 2016, when after losing the ODI series 4-1, Team India clean swept the Aussies in their own den, in the three-match T20I series. After demolishing the mighty Aussies in 2016, team India have whitewashed Sri Lanka twice, West Indies thrice and the Kiwis twice. This extends their tally to eight. Pakistan is the only team apart from India who have a record of registering eight whitewashes in T20Is. However, if the Indian team is able to complete a whitewash against Ireland, they will create a massive record and will edge past their arch rivals Pakistan.
Team India aims to prepare for the T20 World Cup 2024
The Indian team has also started to prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup, all set to take place in June 2024. Team India was knocked out of the 2022 edition of the tournament after losing to England in the semifinals by ten wickets. The team management, since then has tried various options and also is strengthening the core of the team. After the ODI World Cup 2023, Team India will play a total of three T20I series until January 2024.
