Ahead of the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, all the teams have started to prepare for the upcoming major ICC event. The English cricket team, led by Jos Buttler, has already announced its squad for the ODI World Cup and will also play a four-match ODI series against New Zealand. Ben Stokes has come back in the team, after reversing retirement from the 50-over format.

Jacques Kallis predicts Jos Buttler is the highest run scorer of the ODI World Cup 2023 

Former South African cricketer and legendary all-rounder Jacques Kallis has predicted the highest run scorer of the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Jos Buttler, who will lead the English team in the major ICC tournament is Kallis' choice to become the highest run-scorer in the World Cup 2023. Jacques Kallis while speaking to ICC said: 

I think Jos Buttler will be the leading run scorer. An outside call, but I fancy him in those conditions. Along with England having a good World Cup, I think, um, me, he's going to be the one guy that stands up.

Jos Buttler led England to win the T20 World Cup 2022 win and now will aim to repeat the same heroics in the ODI World Cup 2023. 

England aims to repeat 2019 ODI World Cup heroics in 2023 

The opening match of the ODI World Cup 2023 to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will be a repeat of the final of the 2019 ODI World Cup final. England and New Zealand will take on each other in the opening match and are playing a four-match ODI series ahead of the tournament. 

With Ben Stokes returning to the side, England's chances to retain their ODI World Cup title have certainly increased. Stokes was the hero of the 2019 ODI World Cup final and his 84-run knock pushed the match into a super over.
