Trevor Bayliss has stepped down as the head coach of England cricket team on a high after a successful outing with the 'Three Lions in the final Ashes test which comes just weeks after the nation's first World Cup triumph. He will not move to IPL side Sunrisers Hyderabad. Prior to his coaching career, Trevor Bayliss was a first-class cricketer and had represented New South Wales. During his playing days, he was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-spinner.

Trevor Bayliss' successful coaching stint with England

Trevor Bayliss's career as a player left something to be desired but he definitely achieved greatness and success as a coach. During his coaching stint, the 56-year-old has led England to their maiden World Cup triumph this year. Under Bayliss' guidance, England had also reached the finals of ICC World T20 2016 in India. Trevor Bayliss had also coached the Sri Lankan team between 2007 and 2011. The islanders had finished as the runners-up in the 2011 World Cup under his tenure. Apart from international cricket, the cricketer-turned-coach has found success in franchise cricket as well. He was the head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders when they had won their two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014 respectively. He was also the coach of BBL side Sydney Sixers when they had won the BBL title in 2011/12 season and also went on to win the CLT20 title in the same year.

After England had beaten Australia to level the Ashes series, England Cricket took to social media and thanked Trevor Bayliss. They had also posted the pictures of the English players hugging their head coach who had taken their country's cricket to greater heights.

England have the last Ashes laugh

Chasing a huge target of 399 to win their first Ashes series on Engish soil since 2001, Australia lost momentum early on when both openers were dismissed. The joy of English players and fans knew no bounds when they got rid of Steve Smith for 23 which was his lowest score of the series as the visitors were reduced to 85/4. Matthew Wade scored a valiant century as his 166-ball 117 put the Aussies in a respectable position. However, the English bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals as Australia were bundled out for 263 and the hosts registered a 135-run win.
