Virat Kohli grieves over martyred soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama, expresses shock and concern

On Thursday afternoon, an IED blast in the Pulwama district along the Jammu-Srinagar highway rocked the 70-vehicle convoy of CRPF jawans who were heading from Jammu back to Srinagar.

On Thursday afternoon, an IED blast in the Pulwama district along the Jammu-Srinagar highway rocked the 70-vehicle convoy of CRPF jawans who were heading from Jammu back to Srinagar. A total of 37 CRPF jawans were martyred and several others were injured from the terror attack. Terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claimed the responsibility for the attack. Many of the Bollywood stars conveyed their condolences to the families, prayers for the injured and the need to hit back at the perpetrators.

Reacting to the dastardly Pulwama terror attack on CRPF, Indian Skipper Virat Kohli expressed his shock and concern saying ' I am shocked after hearing about the attack in Pulwama, heartfelt condolences to the martyred soldiers and prayers for the speedy recovery of injured Jawans' 

Apart from him, members of the cricket fraternity in the likes of Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina and Gautam Gambir too expressed shock and anger over the incident. 

The 54 Battalion of CRPF was targeted by the terrorists as their vehicle was attacked with an IED blast. There were 35 personnel aboard the vehicle that was attacked and as per CRPF sources, 100 kg of explosive was used in IED blast. Moreover, Pakistan backed Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the biggest terror attack in the last 15 years, in a text message to Kashmiri News Agency GNS.

Meanwhile, CRPF also issued a statement following the terror attack saying that the convoy started from Jammu around 4 am. It was an Up Convoy to Srinagar and that around 70 vehicles were in this convoy with 2,500 CRPF personnel.
