The World Cup isn't even a week old and there is already a contender to go up against Ben Stokes' tournament opening 'catch of the century' to dismiss Andile Phehlukwayo in the tournament opener between hosts England and South Africa.

However, the rival to Stokes isn't from any of the World Cup sides but is, in fact, from a member of the media contingent.

Ian Kington, a photographer at South Africa's defeat against Bangladesh at the Kennington Oval in London on Sunday, pulled off a quite marvellous catch, collecting Faf Du Plessis' six one-handed as the South African Captain hit a big shot to bring up his fifty in the Proteas' ill-fated but spirited chase.

The catch, which has been tweeted out by the ICC as a sort-of 'play of the match', sees the ball hurtling past the boundary straight to an area where a few photographers are standing. Kington, holding a massive (and likely heavy) telephoto lens in one hand, sticks a hand out and catches the ball with minimal fuss, with those around immediately throwing their hands up in celebration.

Speaking to mediapersons later, Kington revealed that he's never really played Cricket apart from occasionally with his friends.

South Africa have now lost their first two matches ahead of their third against India. In London on Sunday, Bangladesh set them a target of 331. In response, South Africa laboured and eventually made a fist of it, falling short by 21 runs.
