The 2019 season of Indian Premier League (IPL) will kick off on Saturday with reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram stadium.
Fans are anticipating a roller coaster of a ride in the 12th edition of the tournament, which has over the years produced uncountable moments of brilliance with the bat, ball and on the field.
Ahead of the opening fixture, the official Twitter handle IPL posted a throwback video of AB de Villiers, who will be representing RCB on Saturday, letting the fans know what is there in the offering.
The video is of the insane catch the South African took of Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) Alex Hales in the 2018 season. The quality of his effort cannot be described in words, given it was extraordinary, to say the least.
"@ABdeVilliers17's super acrobatics sent the Bengaluru crowd into a tizzy last season What more can we see from him at Chennai tonight? #CSKvRCB #VIVOIPL 2019," read the tweet of IPL ahead of CSK vs RCB.
De Villiers will be part of the RCB unit aiming to win its first ever IPL title. The Bangalore franchise has reached the final on three occassions, but on each time, they have come short.
As for CSK, the reigning champions who have won the tournament three times, they are hoping to become the most successful IPL franchise by winning the title for fourth time.
