'What a debut': Sachin Tendulkar, Harsha Bhogle and others hail Alzarri Joseph over his record-breaking IPL debut

West Indies speedster Alzarri Joseph had a dream IPL debut on Saturday as he picked up six wickets which helped Mumbai Indians register an emphatic 40 run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. 

The 22-year-old bowled a widish delivery outside off stump which David Warner ended up chopping back to his stumps. The Antiguan then proceeded to clean up SRH's middle and lower middle order with his impressive bowling. He then took the wickets of Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda, Rashid Khan, stand-in captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddharth Kaul to bundle Hyderabad out for a meagre 96 in their chase of 137. 

Having witnessed a splendid bowling IPL debut by 'Man of the Match'Joseph, the cricketing fraternity hailed praises for the Mumbai Indians fast-bowler. 

Former Mumbai Indians skipper and legend Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to appreciate the 'briliant spell of bowling' by Joseph.

On Saturday, Alzarri Joseph finished with 6-12 in his 3.4 overs at an economy of 3.27 which included a maiden. He has now claimed the best bowling figures in IPL's history having surpassed Sohail Tanvir's 6/14 registered in the inaugural edition in 2008. The previous best figures on IPL debut was Andrew Tye's 5/17, in 2017.

"Unbelievable. It's a great start. I dont' think I could have asked for anything better. So I will really cherish this moment," said Joseph at the post-match press conference after helping Mumbai Indians secure a 40-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad here on Saturday night.
