India is battling against New Zealand in the first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at Old Trafford in Manchester. The Men In Blue are be eyeing their fourth World Cup final appearance while the Black Caps are hoping for a second consecutive summit clash appearance. While the fans were excited by some action-packed entertainment on the field, their happiness had water poured on it at the backend of the first innings as the weather gods intervened. As the players left the field, the 2015 World Cup finalists were 211/5 after the end of 46.1 overs.

Both India and New Zealand's group game was also washed out due to rain without a ball being bowled. However, since this is a semi-final, there is a reserve day scheduled. But, full efforts will be made for the match to get over on the scheduled day itself. In this event, the Duckworth-Lewis rule is more than likely to come into effect..

Given that the method is controversial and New Zealand stand to benefit because they managed to retain a number of wickets despite having a slow run rate, netizens aren't particularly happy. They've channeled their discontent into memes on the Duckworth-Lewis method.
