"I wish the lads all the best for the game but unfortunately I’ll be watching from home."- said Liverpool's Andy Robertson. Read more about the injury.
Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has been left out of Scotland's squad for the upcoming International break. Robertson recently revealed to British media outlets that he is suffering from an injury for some time now, which can lead to a major injury. The emerging star also added that he has stopped training with the Liverpool team due to the injury. Robertson has been advised to take a break for a while to avoid the situation from getting worse. Liverpool have a golden opportunity to win the Premier League after 30 years and they can't afford to lose Andy Robertson in such a crucial situation.
Andy Robertson on the injury
Andy Robertson stated that its a big disappointment for him that he is missing out the upcoming Euro 2020 Qualifier games for Scotland. He said that his record since the past five years shows that he is determined to feature in every game possible. The left-back revealed that he has not been training for Liverpool for over two weeks but has been doing a bit of light training a day before the game. Robertson only played for 15 minutes against Genk in the Champions League group stage match and completely missed out the Arsenal game in the League Cup.
Robertson said that it is a discomforting injury which won't go away unless he gives it time. He said that his ankle was already injured when a tackle from Rodri in the Liverpool vs Manchester City game last Sunday aggravated it. Robertson further said that he knows that he is being paid to play football but if he wants to keep going, he will have to prevent the injury from being more damaging.
