Arsenal vs Aston Villa: About the teams

Arsenal have won all their last six meetings with Aston Villa in all competitions and have also managed to keep a clean sheet in the last five. Only Chelsea and Manchester United (4) have won more Premier League away games at Emirates than Aston Villa (3). Arsenal opened their season on a very high note with two wins in the first two matches. But Arsenal lost their momentum as they failed to get a single win in their last three Premier League matches.

Coincidentally, they had similar results in the opening five matches during the 2015-16 season, when they were at the bottom of the table. Since the start of last season, Arsenal have conceded 10 goals via a penalty and have made more errors leading to the goal (14) than any other Premier League team

If Arsenal concede a penalty against Aston Villa, it will be their fourth consecutive match to give away a spot-kick. Gunners will become only the fourth team alongside Stoke City (4), Wimbledon (5) and Norwich (5) to give four or more consecutive penalties. Unai Emery's side has allowed 96 shots on target in the Premier League season so far and only 13 teams have allowed more in their first five Premier League games since 2003-04. Mesut Ozil has been directly involved in six goals in his last four games against Aston Villa (2 goals, 4 assists), providing an assist in every game.
