The chairman's thoughts

After seeing his side close the gap to league leaders South Shields to seven points, Basford United Chairman Chris Munroe was very pleased with his side's start to the season but also wanted to avoid getting carried away. He also heaped praise on manager Steve Chettle for the way the side has performed. Munroe, who witnessed his side come back from a goal down before clinching this famous win, was shocked by the publicity it received, stating he was as equally surprised by the goal as he was by the attention it brought on the club and the player alike. He, however, felt it was a good thing for the league as a whole. The chairman would definitely want Galinski to savour the moment and keep performing at his best for the rest of the campaign.
