The fourth round of the Carabao Cup was as thrilling as a Christopher Nolan movie. Liverpool played out a 5-5 draw against Arsenal, eventually emerging winners via a penalty shootout. Manchester United prevailed over Chelsea thanks to a Marcus Rashford double, while Colchester United did just enough to scrape through the fourth round.
After such an exciting round of fixtures, it was time for the quarter-final draws of the Carabao Cup. Manchester City drew Oxford United, thus continuing their run of drawing minnows in the competition. Liverpool drew Premier League’s newly-promoted side Aston Villa. Everton take on Leicester City, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United are at home to Colchester United.
Of all these draws, arguably Manchester City would the happiest with how the quarter-final draws of the Carabao Cup turned out. However, it seems that Colchester United were over the moon when they received the news that they will be playing Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

McGreal also went on to say that he believes United are on par with Real Madrid as one of the biggest clubs in the world. The prospect of playing a Carabao Cup quarter-final will be huge for the Colchester United players. That the opportunity comes at the Theatre of Dreams will add to the lustre as Colchester United look to effect another upset against Premier League opponents. Colchester United earlier knocked out Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
