Champions League: Barcelona vs Slavia Prague player ratings & review

FC Barcelona's struggles continued on Tuesday night with a 0-0 draw against Slavia Prague in the Champions League Group F tie at the Camp Nou. It was indeed a frustrating night of for the home side as the spirited Czech club repeated their previous feat in Italy and went home with a well-earned point.

Just like their previous meeting in Prague, where FC Barcelona managed to scrape away with a win, the game was played at a relentless pace. Slavia Prague continued pressing hard and were not afraid to send men forward. Meanwhile, the home side never quite managed to get into their comfort zone and although both sides had plenty of chances and had goals ruled out for offside, it all ended in a stalemate. Lionel Messi was at his usual best and almost scored in the first half after he showed some quick feet before seeing his shot rattled off the post. Further frustration came after the break when Arturo Vidal had a goal wiped out for offside. Slavia Prague's goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar had a fine game in Catalonia, particularly when he denied Messi from point-blank range off an exquisite Ansu Fati pass. He might have single-handedly kept his side alive in the tie.

Barcelona remain at the top of Champions League Group F but allowed Borussia Dortmund to close in on them as the Bundesliga side defeated Inter Milan 3-2 in their home fixture. A frustrating 0-0 draw at home to Slavia Prague means there is still work to be done in the final fixtures for the Catalonian side.
