Manchester City travelled to the San Siro stadium for their Champions League Matchday 4 game against Serie A's high-flying Atalanta. The previous meeting between the two sides saw Pep Guardiola's side emerge 5-1 winners, courtesy of an 11-minute hat-trick from Raheem Sterling. Manchester City's visit to Italy, however, was straight-forward.

When Raheem Sterling put the visitors ahead in the 7th minute, it seemed like Atalanta would be in for another long night in the Champions League. However, Gian Piero Gasperini's men did their best to avoid a repeat of their 5-1 defeat on Matchday 3 of the Champions League, as evident by the three Atalanta players going in the referee's book in the first half. The third yellow card resulted in a penalty for Pep Guardiola's side. Gabriel Jesus, who has been in decent form in the last couple of weeks, stepped up to take the penalty. The Brazilian failed to keep his shot on target and registered a weak effort, thus missing a glorious opportunity to put some distance between Man City and Atalanta.

The second half, however, was when the drama began. Ederson was substituted for Claudio Bravo as a precaution. The Brazilian goalkeeper is reported to have suffered a minor muscle problem during the game. Just four minutes after his introduction, the Chilean stopper had to pick the ball out of the back of City's net when Atalanta equalised through on-loan midfielder Mario Pasalic. Bravo was then sent off after rushing off his line to prevent Josip Ilicic from going through on goal. The moment of madness from the Chilean meant that right-back Kyle Walker had to don the gloves for the final 10 minutes of the game. Interestingly, the former Tottenham right-back made more saves in the final 10 minutes than Claudio Bravo made during his time on the pitch against Atalanta. Here are the player ratings from the game.
