Champions League: Player ratings from PSG's unimpressive 1-0 win

The scorelines from the Group A results on Matchday 4 of the Champions League make for interesting reading - 1-0, and 6-0. Considering that Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid were playing on the night, the 6-0 scoreline required no justification. However, while the out of form Real Madrid scored six goals against Galatasaray, PSG could only manage an unimpressive 1-0 win over Club Brugge.

Inter Milan loanee Mauro Icardi continued his impressive scoring run by netting the only goal in PSG's 1-0 win on the night. PSG's line-up boasted of the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria and Marco Verratti. However, the Paris team could only manage a scrappy 1-0 victory on a night when they were arguably outplayed by Philippe Clement's side. Nevertheless, PSG now have four wins from four Champions League games this season, and thus, have qualified for the knockout stages. Club Brugge went close, very close, to equalising in the 76th minute. PSG captain Thiago Silva clumsily brought down Mbaye Diagne in the box. As a result, a penalty was awarded to the visitors. Diagne stepped up to take the penalty and saw his effort saved. While PSG's win could be chalked down to Keylor Navas' heroics, it was, in truth, a poor penalty from the Senegalese.
