Cristiano Ronaldo escapes fine for outburst after substitution during AC Milan win
Cristiano Ronaldo cut a visibly frustrated figure as he muttered a few choice words under his breath after being substituted by Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri
Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be above the law in Turin. After storming out of the Allianz Arena during Juventus' narrow 1-0 win over AC Milan, the former Real Madrid forward risked receiving a two-year ban due to anti-doping regulations. However, it now seems that Ronaldo will not be handed the two-year ban. Interestingly, he will also not be fined for his comments which were directed at coach Maurizio Sarri as he left the pitch during his substitution.
Cristiano Ronaldo's deja vu substitution
There's a first time for everything and Cristiano Ronaldo learned as much last week. Ronaldo been subbed off during the first 55 minutes of play for his first time for Juventus and also has been subbed off for two consecutive games for his first time with the Bianconeri. Interestingly, in both games, (the earlier one being Juventus' 2-1 win over Lokomotiv Moscow), Cristiano Ronaldo's substitution was followed by Juventus netting the winning goal. Furthermore, in both those games, Ronaldo made way for Paulo Dybala. In the game against AC Milan, Dybala went on to score the only goal of the game to keep Maurizio Sarri and Juventus' unbeaten run intact this season.
However, reports in Italy indicate that Cristiano Ronaldo will have to apologise to his teammates, on account of leaving the Allianz Arena before the final whistle during the AC Milan game. Speaking after the game, Maurizio Sarri said that he was unaware of Ronaldo leaving the stadium before the final whistle. He did, however, say that if that was the case, it was an issue that needed to be handled between Ronaldo and his Juventus teammates.
