Paris Saint-Germain head coach Thomas Tuchel said on Saturday that several key players will need some more time to regain their best form after recovering from the coronavirus.

At least seven players have been reported to have contracted the Covid-19 infection in the past few weeks, including strikers Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Mauro Icardi.

All players recovered from the virus, and Tuchel said he expects Neymar and Mbappe to start on Sunday at Reims.

Paris Saint-Germain had a rocky start in the Ligue 1 new season, with two losses in the first four matches.

Tuchel also complained on Saturday about the hefty sanctions inflicted to Paris Saint-Germain players after the altercations occurred during the last minutes of their 1-0 loss against Marseille on September 13th.

Five stoppage time red cards between the two teams resulted in a cumulative 14-match ban for Saint-Germain players - including a four-match ban for midfielder Angel Di Maria and a two-match ban for Neymar - while Marseille's Jordan Amavi was suspended for three matches and Dario Benedetto for one.
