Lionel Messi clinched the first spot with a rating of 94 while his long term rival Cristiano Ronaldo followed him with a rating of 93. PSG forward Neymar (92), Eden Hazard (91), who is a part of the FIFA 20 cover, and Mohamed Salah (90) are among the top-rated footballers in the game. Women’s football also plays an essential role in this edition. The top five rated women players in FIFA 20 are players from the United States, France, and Canada.

2019 FIFA Women's World Cup champions, United States of America have two of their players in the top two positions. Sky blue forward Carli Lloyd tops the list with a rating of 92 while her teammate Megan Rapinoe is on the second position with a rating of 91. Meanwhile, Brazilian striker Marta is in the third position with a rating of 89.
