Fluminense joined the campaign "Black Lives Matter" at their return of Rio State Championship playing against Volta Redonda.
However, it was not quite as expected, as their opponent scored 3-0 and dominated the match.
Fluminense, together with Botafogo, were against the resumption of the tournament, due to the high number of cases and deaths by Covid-19 in Rio de Janeiro.
They chose to play at Estadio Nilton Santos because they didn't want to play at their home ground in Maracana with a field hospital
The club used a special edition of their traditional jersey with the messages "Thank you health workers" and "Black Lives Matter" in Portuguese.
At their third goal. Volta Redonda's Saulo Mineiro also took an opportunity to remember the "Black Lives Matter" movement, by kneeling and raising his arm after scoring.
