Football transfer: Bayern Munich likely to bid £69m for Leroy Sane
Bayern Munich have reportedly reignited their interest in Manchester City forward Leroy Sane and have reportedly offered £69m for the German International.
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are lining up a £69m bid for Manchester City winger Leroy Sane. According to British media reports, the German is often linked with a move to the Allianz Arena with the club’s management interested in him. Sane’s contract at the Etihad expires at the end of the 2020-21 season and must be looking forward to discussing his future moves. City is believed to have offered a far more lucrative contract to the player, but the winger could well have other career ideas in mind.
Sane is out for almost the whole season
Sane suffered a knee injury in a Community shield match against Liverpool in August 2019 and has been recovering from it. He is expected to be back well before his stipulated recovery time. Bayern Munich attempted to sign the winger in the previous transfer window as well, but failed to reach an agreement with City.
Bayern signed Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona at the start of the season but would look to make a permanent signing to improve their attack. Sane is considered as an ideal option to support Robert Lewandowski after the departure of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben. However, Bayern will have to wait till the transfer window to make a breakthrough in negotiations in this transfer. British media reports claim that Manchester City have accepted the fact that Sane is set to move to Bavaria.
In recent developments at the Allianz Arena, manager Niko Kovac has been sacked after the club’s not-so-good performance in the Bundesliga. The arrival of a new coach will likely have an impact on the negotiations with Sane and Manchester City.
