According to British media reports, Manchester City, AS Roma and West Ham United are looking to sign Romania's Florinel Coman. City have been scouting the young winger, but face competition from Roma and West Ham. Coman is considered as one of the greatest Romanian talents ever next to Ianis Hagi. He plays for Steaua Bucharest at present. Coman has been in excellent form. He has scored eight goals in 19 games already, including two in the Europa League. He also has five assists to his name this season.
Florinel Coman: Debut in national team
In October 2019, the youngster was called up for national duty. In Romania's 3-0 victory over the Faroe Islands, he debuted in the European Championship qualifier under coach Cosmin Contra. Coman is a lively winger who will be well-known to the England Under-21 team. In the summer of 2019, the Romania international was part of his country’s U-21 side. They stunned England in the U-21 European Championships. He scored twice in this game and won a penalty, despite only being on the pitch for less than half an hour.
Comparisons with Mbappe
City have made a number of checks on the 21-year-old Steaua Bucharest winger who is one of his country's brightest prospects and even been likened to France star Kylian Mbappe by his club's owner Gigi Becali. He is blessed with a remarkable turn of pace and an eye for goal, likening him to the French and PSG forward.
A move to the Premier League would certainly give Coman the chance to prove that he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the best young player on the planet right now. The chances are that Coman would be loaned out to one of City's sister clubs should he choose the Premier League champions. Joining West Ham would give him a better chance at playing regular Premier League football, at least initially.
