Gameweek 8 had some shocking results and the FPL users might have to make some changes to their squads. Liverpool remains top of the table with a total of 24 points. The Reds have eight-points more than the champions, Manchester City who have already suffered two defeats thus far including a shocking home defeat to Wolves this weekend. Arsenal are in third place after defeating Bournemouth at the Emirates. Champions League finalists Tottenham fell to Brighton 0 - 3 in an away game. Here are some of the top performers of Gameweek 8.
Gameweek 8 top performers
- Tammy Abraham's opening goal at Southampton not only gave Chelsea their third win in four matches but also made him the joint-leader in the race for the Golden Boot. He has scored eight goals in eight Premier League fixtures. The 22-year old has been performing amazingly well this season but his manager, Frank Lampard feels there is a lot more to come from the youngster.
- A third double-digit haul of the season helped Sadio Mane overtake Mohamed Salah in the overall standings in Fantasy Premier League. The Senegalese midfielder managed to score a goal, provide an assist and score 12 FPL points as Liverpool remained unbeaten this season. He is currently the most bought player for Gameweek 9, with over 65,000 new owners.
- David Luiz's decisive goal helped Arsenal to their second clean sheet of the season. The Brazilian defender also got three bonus points for his breathtaking performance. He has managed to contribute a total of 21 points this season.
- Wolves have defeated Manchester City with two goals away from home at the Etihad Stadium. The Wolves winger, Adama Traore, owned by just 0.7 per cent of FPL managers, scored both the visitors' goals in a 2-0 win at City's home turf.
