Iker Casillas returns to training six months after heart attack
Real Madrid legend and FC Porto keeper Iker Casillas returned to training six months after suffering a heart attack. The player shared the news on Twitter.

Former Real Madrid captain and FC Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas has taken a step forward after his recovery from a heart attack. The goalkeeper started training for the first time six months after he collapsed in training. The 38-year old shared a picture on Twitter confirming the news with his fans

Iker Casillas reportedly trained alone for 20-25 minutes. He has been named in FC Porto’s Primeira Liga squad for the 2019-20 season. It was rumoured that the Spanish keeper would be forced to retire from the sport but it seems like Iker Casillas has made a full recovery and the fans would be hoping to see the legend in action very soon. Agustin Marchesin, who joined from Club America this summer, has been filling in the void left by Casillas between the sticks.
Iker Casillas: Big boost for FC Porto
Iker Casillas has been active on social media after his unfateful heart surgery. He thanked the fans for their wishes and the support and has regularly shared updates of his recovery. Casillas' return would be a massive boost to the FC Porto squad, who are trailing league leaders Benfica by two points after 10 Primeira Liga games.

Iker Casillas played 510 games for Real Madrid before moving to Porto in the summer of 2015. The goalkeeper won 5 LaLiga and 3 UEFA Champions League titles during his 16-year spell at Real Madrid. Casillas was the captain of the famed Spanish National team that won the Euro 2008, FIFA World Cup 2010 and the Euro 2012. He won the Primeira Liga 2017-18 with Porto.
