NorthEast United FC will be without the services of former coach Eelco Schattorie over the course of ISL 2019-20 edition. The Dutch coach guided the North-eastern side to the playoffs for the very first time in the club's history last year. ISL: NorthEast United FC rope in Ghana's Asamoah Gyan

Robert Jarni moved soon to make some key signings to bring in the attacking combo of Asamoah Gyan and Maximiliano Barreiro. This was a direct consequence of striker Bartholomew Ogbeche's departure to Kerala Blasters FC. NorthEast United FC also lost goalkeeper TP Rehenesh to the South Indian club.
