Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Manchester City sparked off a lot of drama, it would seem. There was the handball controversy. Then there was the Joe Gomez-Raheem Sterling bust-up which boiled over to the England squad as they prepared for their Euro qualifier against Montenegro.

Jurgen Klopp's not-so-stealthy escape
With the Liverpool vs Manchester City game done and dusted, Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola headed to a UEFA coaches’ summit in Switzerland. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp arrived before the Spaniard when an interviewer took the opportunity to ask whether the charismatic German had spoken with Guardiola. Klopp, who at first failed to understand who the interviewer was referring to on account of his heavy accent, then went on to say that he did indeed speak to Guardiola. Klopp then asked the interviewer why he wouldn't be on talking terms with Pep Guardiola when he turned around to see Guardiola make his way to the coaches' summit. On seeing Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp whispered to the interviewers saying, "Pep Guardiola is coming!", and rushed away from the scene. While Guardiola was not privy to Jurgen Klopp's interview, he did notice Klopp rushing away and proceeded to smile at the incident.
Klopp insisted at Monday's summit the use of VAR had to be improved - a point he said he and Guardiola had agreed on. 🤝

The two managers were in opposing dugouts on Sunday night at Anfield. However, Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola were united and vocal about their concerns regarding the fixture pile-up in December. Liverpool's fixture pile-up especially will be a pressing concern for Jurgen Klopp. Since the start of December, Liverpool could be on course to play 11 games in 31 days in five competitions across three different countries and two continents.
Considering that Liverpool are participating in the Carabao Cup, the Club World Cup, the Premier League and Champions League, the strength of the Liverpool squad is likely to be tested to its limits after the international break. Jurgen Klopp has earlier stated that he is not averse to playing two separate teams during Liverpool's Carabao Cup fixture against Aston Villa and their Club World Cup game the next day. Jurgen Klopp will, however, welcome Joel Matip and Xherdan Shaqiri back into the fold in December.
