Lionel Messi helped Inter Miami triumph over Philadelphia 

Lionel Messi scored again as Inter Miami advanced to the Leagues Cup final by beating Philadelphia Union 4-1 in a heavy semifinal match on Wednesday. With this win, Inter Miami earned their spot in the final. Messi scored his ninth goal for the team he just joined. All of his goals this season have come in the same event, which is an interesting fact and has gone on to score in every match he has played in the Leagues Cup so far.

In the 20th minute of the game, Messi showed off his amazing skills by scoring a goal from a long way outside the penalty area. Leo took advantage of the space he had about 30 yards from the goal and fired a low shot that beat Blake's flying save and went into the right corner of the net. Fans cheered and jumped for joy when Messi put the ball in the back of the net. He did a celebratory run with his arms spread, then pumped his fist in victory as he jumped for joy.

Who will Inter Miami play in the final of the Leagues Cup 2023?

With this win, Messi is in a good position to compete for his first trophy as Inter Miami gets ready to play either Nashville SC or CF Monterrey in the upcoming final. With their latest win, the Miami-based club also earned a spot in the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup. Messi's former FC Barcelona partner Jordi Alba also reached a big milestone when he scored his first goal for the Herons during this game, in the 45th minute.

Josef Martinez and David Ruis both scored goals for the team as well. Alejandro Bedoya scored a goal for Philadelphia at the end of the game. At that point, though, it wasn't enough to change the way the game turned out.
