Jordi Alba and Messi help Inter Miami reach the final of the Leagues Cup

Inter Miami beat the Philadelphia Union 4-1 in a tough Leagues Cup playoff on Wednesday as they continue their winning streak. With this win, the Miami-based club moved on to the Leagues Cup final. Messi's ninth goal for his new team was a strong finish. This season, all of his goals have come from the same tournament, as he has scored in every match since his arrival. In the 20th minute, Messi scored from outside the penalty area. Leo used the 30 yards of space he had and blasted a low shot that Blake dove to stop but missed and ended up in the right corner of the goal.

Former Barcelona defender Jordi Alba also made a big difference to Inter Miami when he scored his first goal for the club. This gave the Herons a clear 3-0 lead going into halftime. This happened not long after his long-time friend Lionel Messi scored an amazing goal from an insanely long distance. The entire team gathered and celebrated Alba's first goal. The Spanish defender also blew a kiss to the stands while celebrating the halftime lead.

Who will Messi and the team play in the 2023 Leagues Cup final?

Messi, Alba, and Busquets are now in an excellent spot to battle for their first trophy with the new club as Inter Miami prepares to face Nashville SC in the upcoming Leagues Cup final. With their most recent victory, David Beckham's side also qualified for the Concacaf Champions Cup in 2024. Nonetheless, immediately following Alba's goal in the 45th minute, the second half was also thrilling.

Other goal scorers for the team included Josef Martinez and David Ruis. At the conclusion of the contest, Alejandro Bedoya scored for Philadelphia. However, it was not enough to change the outcome of the game, as Miami won 4-1.
