The use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the Premier League has been met with mixed reactions over the course of the 2019-20 season. Matchweek 11 witnessed some questionable decisions made with the use of VAR in the Liverpool vs Aston Villa match and the Tottenham Hotspur and Everton clash on Sunday too. Former Tottenham and Barcelona striker Gary Lineker took to Twitter to express his anguish at the use of VAR in the English top-flight this season.
