Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes that it would be impossible for his side to stay unbeaten in the Premier League this season. Klopp spoke to the official broadcaster of the competition following Liverpool’s hard-fought 2-1 win against Aston Villa on Saturday. Sadio Mane’s extra-time winner sealed a win for the Reds against Villa to maintain their unbeaten Premier League run, which dates back to January 2019. They have won all but one match, courtesy of a draw against Manchester United.
Klopp: Liverpool needs knocks
The celebrated manager believes that Liverpool must look to learn from their mistakes and continue to improve in order to win their first Premier League crown in 30 years, instead of focussing on remaining unbeaten. For that, Klopp candidly admits that the team needs to get knocks occasionally as a timely reminder. He played down any talk of Liverpool matching Arsenal's famous 'Invincibles' streak in 2002-03 after his side's late heroics against Aston Villa.

Liverpool is first in the League table with a six-point lead over defending champions, Manchester City who are placed second. The two clubs will face off on Sunday at Anfield after Liverpool host Genk in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. The European champions have won twice in the Champions League while losing once so far. They look to win the competition again along with the domestic league title.
Klopp concludes that the Reds must learn from their narrow escape against Aston Villa, having fought back to win 10 points from losing positions this season. The German feels that his team needs a change of mentality in order to maintain an unbeaten record.
