Serie A 2019-20: Fiorentina beat struggling AC Milan to go ninth
Serie A: AC Milan failed to find form once again as they saw their third consecutive league defeat, this time against Fiorentina. Read the highlights
AC Milan faced their third consecutive loss in Serie A as Fiorentina handed them another defeat on September 30, 2019. Fiorentina's all-round performance knocked down the already struggling Marco Giampaolo's side. La Viola moved to the ninth position with a win over Rossoneri, who moved down to 16th position.

Franck Ribery made a threatening run with the ball in the box, leaving Matteo Musacchio and Alessio Romagnoli stunned before he fired the ball away. The visitors saw an early lead as Pulgar slotted home from the spot in the 14th minute after Chiesa won a penalty off Bennacer's challenge. Milenkovic was shown a yellow card for tripping over Bennacer in the 35th minute.
Musacchio saw a red card for his nasty challenge on Frank Ribery and Milan were reduced to 10 men in the second half. Castrovilli doubled the lead for Fiorentina as Milenkovic rushed forward from deep and laid it off to Chiesa on the right-hand side of the area but Donnarumma pushed it away. The ball fell for Castrovilli, who netted the second goal on the 66th minute. The referee awarded another penalty to Fiorentina and it was Bennacer at fault as he tripped over Castrovilli, however, Donnarumma denied Chiesa's poor spot-kick.
Ribery extended Fiorentina's lead from Chiesa's cross and hammered the final nail to Milan's sorrow. However, Leao grabbed a consolation goal for Milan as his excellent solo move was enough to beat Dragowski to make it 1-3. Ten-man Milan looked to struggle throughout the match and Fiorentina made the most of it for a thrilling away win.
