Serie A: Ronaldo, Dybala and other players on international duty
Maurizio Sarri will be pleased with the win over Inter Milan in Serie A. Sarri will hope that his players retain their fitness over the international break.
Juventus FC have begun strongly in this year’s Serie A. The Bianconeri defeated Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan just before the start of the international break. Goals from Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain ensured that the defending champions hold onto their spot at the top of the Serie A table. Maurizio Sarri will hope that all the star players within his squad that have been called up to feature in the international break will refrain from overexerting themselves and getting injured over the weekend. Here’s a list of Juventus FC players on international duty this weekend.
Netherlands
Former Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt will feature on October 10, 2019, against Northern Ireland as part of Netherlands’ Euro 2020 qualifying campaign. De Ligt will then face Belarus 72 hours later away from home.
France
Blaise Matuidi will join the Les Bleus squad as part of their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign. The French midfielder will hope to prove his doubters wrong as the FIFA 2018 World Cup winners take Iceland and Turkey.
Colombia
Juan Cuadrado will travel to his native to play for Colombia in their set of friendly games. Colombia will face-off against Chile and reigning AFCON champions Algeria on October 12 and 16 respectively.
Portugal
Juventus FC star forward Cristiano Ronaldo will play Group B leaders Ukraine in their Euro 2020 qualifier on October 15, 2019. Prior to that, Portugal will also go up against Luxembourg during the international break.
Germany
Emre Can, who has been sidelined for much of the Serie A 2019-20 season, played in Germany’s recent 2-2 draw in Dortmund. The former Liverpool midfielder will also be in contention to feature for Joachim Low and Co. in their Euro 2020 qualifier match against Estonia.
Argentina
Argentinian forward Paulo Dybala also played in the match against Germany during the ongoing international break. Dybala was subbed off in place of Bayer Leverkusen winger Lucas Alario who was instrumental in Argentina’s comeback last night.
