In contrast, the rewards for the men's World Cup winners are substantially higher. The 2023 Women's World Cup's prize fund, while a marked improvement from past tournaments where only $30 million was divided among participating nations in 2019, still falls well short of the men's counterpart.

In the context of Qatar 2022, a total of $440 million was divided among the 32 participating men's teams, with Argentina securing $42 million (Rs. 300 crore approx) for clinching their third World Cup title.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has made a commitment to establish equal prize money for both the men's and women's World Cups in the subsequent editions, slated for 2026 and 2027 respectively.
