The Best FIFA Awards: Dániel Zsóri wins Puskás Award for wonder goal
Daniel Zsori was recently awarded the prestigious Puskás Award for his bicycle kick goal against Ferencvaros. He defeated Messi and Quintero to win the award.
Daniel Zsori won the prestigious Puskás Award at The Best FIFA Football Awards 2019, for his bicycle kick goal against Ferencvaros in a game at Debrecen. The 18-year-old Romanian player won the award over Messi and Quintero. FC Barcelona captain Lionel Messi was nominated for his goal against Real Betis at the Estadio Benito Villamarin. Messi has never won the Puskás Award but has been nominated for it seven times. Juan Fernando Quintero, on the other hand, was nominated for his direct freekick against Racing Club.
Daniel Zsori's winning goal
Daniel Zsori made his astonishing debut in Hungarian football in February 2019. During his league debut, Daniel delivered an overhead-kick just inside the penalty area. This goal scored was in added time and his team won 2-1. While talking to a sports website, Zsori revealed that he practised the award-winning bicycle kick goal plenty of times during training sessions, and copied his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. FIFA announced the list of ten nominees in August, and football fans voted for their three favourite players in various categories. Earlier in September, the voting ended, and jury members picked the winners from the top three. Many star footballers attended the ceremony at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala. The Best FIFA Football Awards 2019 ceremony started with a remarkable performance from Teatro alla Scala Orchestra, and later the winners were announced by FIFA officials and football legends on Monday, September 23, 2019.
