Tottenham Hotspur after having a bad start in the Champions League are improving their position in the tournament. After they defeated Inter Milan and Barcelona, they will play against PSV Eindhoven in what their manager Mauricio Pochettino calls a 'must win'. Pochettino on the 2-2 draw in the Netherlands claimed that the Spurs' side in the League was almost over. However, after a period of eight months, Tottenham won their Champions League final.

Won 3 out of 12 this season

It took a while for Tottenham to recover from the loss against Liverpool in final which was in Madrid. This season, they have won just three games out of their 12 opening games in all competitions. The possibilities of a first trophy for the team led by Pochettino have become low since they already had a shameful exit penalty to fourth-tier Colchester. Now, they are five points ahead for a position in the Premier League's top four. The manager has admitted that the worst and highly damaging defeat was the previous time when they were out of the Champions League. "After Bayern Munich, our confidence was on the floor," said Pochettino while speaking on when Munich behaved badly in the second-half after which left his team lost.

Response by team in second half of the game Pochettino

The response by the team in the second half of the game opposite the Hornets encouraged Pochettino. The team strikes again fighting back from 1-0 to level, making it Dele Ali's first goal since January this year. "It was so important in the way that we achieved the point in the end, the team was fighting, we showed character," said Pochettino. He added We have quality but when you are in this type of situation the most important thing is the character you need to show. Talent is after, you need to fight and you need to run and you need to be strong in your mind, the effort is double. When everything is good you fly, when everything is going against you need to be so strong and you spend a lot of energy."
