There's a new goal-scoring sheriff in town and that's Manchester City. Amidst surmounting injury issues in the squad and a six-point gap with Liverpool in the Premier League race, you would be forgiven to think that Pep Guardiola's men had lost their sheen in recent matches. After dominating the Premier League last season, Man City were a little slow off the blocks this season.

However, during their mid-week fixture against Atalanta on Tuesday, Guardiola's men showed no signs of being in trouble as they romped to a 5-1 win at the Etihad. Facing an Atalanta side that currently sit third in Seria A after just one loss, City were once again slow off the blocks. When Josip Ilicic tripped over Fernandinho's trailing leg inside the box, City fans must have thought they were in for a long night. Ruslan Malinovsky stepped up to take the penalty and made no mistake to put Atalanta up after just 28 minutes.

Raheem Sterling, however, had other ideas. Seven minutes after conceding the goal, Sterling clipped in a perfectly weighted cross for Sergio Aguero, who made just enough contact to slot in City's equaliser. That was City's cue to dominate. Four minutes later, Sterling looked to make his way inside Atalanta's box but was brought down. Once again, Aguero stepped up and confidently struck the penalty to put City up, after being behind for just seven minutes. It was in the second half, however, when Sterling really turned up the heat against his opponents. Within 11 minutes, the England international bagged a hat-trick to comfortably see through City's win. The win means that City have won all three of their Champions League games so far. Here are the player ratings from the game -
