Wijnaldum 'really not surprised' with Liverpool's perfect start

Liverpool midfielder, Georgini Wijnaldum, stated that it did not come as a surprise to him that his club was off to a perfect start in the premier league

Liverpool midfielder, Georgini Wijnaldum, stated that it did not come as a surprise to him that his club was off to a fine start in this year's premier league season as he was of the belief that Liverpool was capable was pulling off a near-perfect start.

A gradual pick up in the form

According to reports, Wijnaldum stated that one is not at his best whenever the season starts, it takes a while and a couple of games to really get going and grab those three points. It is after a couple of matches that that one grows along with the team. 

The midfielder also added that it comes as a personal satisfaction when his team wins difficult matches against the top-ranked teams in the premier league. 

A perfect start for the Reds

In the interim, Liverpool have kept up their perfect to the season by winning majority of their 7 matches and are roosted on top of the table with a total of 21 points with 5 points in front of  rivals, Manchester City who are at 16 points after losing 1 match and drawing another out of the 7 matches they have played.

Then, defending champions Liverpool edged past FC Salzburg 4-3 at Anfield on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League 2019-20 season. The Reds got an early hang on the match with three goals before half time, however, the match was far from over as Salzburg almost scripted a rebound to overwhelm Jurgen Klopp's men. 

Liverpool is as of now second in Group E and Salzburg tails them at third. Liverpool will presently play against Leicester City on October 5 in the Premier League. Salzburg will currently play Altach in the Austrian Bundesliga around the same time.

Meanwhile in the Champions League

In another Champions League group match, Barcelona and Inter Milan played an exciting match at Camp Nou on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League 2019-20 season. Lionel Messi was in the starting 11 for Barcelona against Inter Milan and former Barcelona player Alexis Sanchez showed up for Inter Milan and looked in form as a direct contrast with his past spell at Manchester United. 

Antonio Conte entered the match with a 100 percent record in Serie A, while, Barcelona appear to battle in LaLiga so far with two defeats as of now to their name.
