World Cup Qualifiers: Igor Stimac's interview with PTI about the clash
However, the match is not going to be an easy task for India as it is going to be played on astroturf and sub-zero temperature. "The climatic condition in Dushanbe is very different from what we have experienced in India at this time. It's very cold and mercury level drops to closer to sub-zero," Igor Stimac told PTI in an interview. According to Stimac, a win against Afghanistan will help India build momentum. "We have improved a lot since our first game (against Oman). We can show what we are capable of without our key players sometimes (defender Sandesh Jhingan and midfielder Rowlin Borges). The result against Afghanistan in Dushanbe will have a major impact on the entire team. A win will boost our confidence by manifold before we head to Muscat," said Igor Stimac.
🗣️ @stimac_igor: "We are happy that people in India 🇮🇳 are following us with lots of passion 😍 now. They have a great expectation on us and we’ll try our level best 👊🏻 to make them happy 🤩"#BackTheBlue 💙 #IndianFootball ⚽ #BlueTigers 🐯 pic.twitter.com/LPI3hubCXz
