Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly demands £860k salary for a return to Serie A
Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly demanded £860k per month from any of the Serie A clubs interested in signing the 38-year-old player.
Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly demanded £8,60,000 a month from any of the Serie A giants that wish to sign him. Ibrahimovic had recently announced on social media that he had left Major League Soccer (MLS) side LA Galaxy after playing for a couple of seasons. The star is reportedly wanted by AC Milan, Napoli and AS Roma, among others.
According to media reports in Italy, any club that is willing to concede to the financial demands of the player would be able to sign him. However, it is widely believed that AC Milan are the front-runners, where the player played between 2010 and 2012, scoring 56 goals in all. Ibrahimovic had also played for Juventus and Inter Milan in the past, having won a total of seven trophies in Italy.
Napoli and AC Milan are the front-runners
However, Napoli could emerge as a surprise destination because of the Carlo Ancelotti factor. Ibrahimovic has played under Ancelotti in the past, during his stint at Paris Saint-Germain. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis had recently confirmed to the media that the club was interested in signing the Swedish international. De Laurentiis told that Ibrahimovic is a friend and that he had met him in Los Angeles, not as a footballer but as a normal person because they were in the same hotel. That he invited him over for dinner with his wife and kids and they had an amazing time. The president went on to confirm that it would be his wish to see him in Napoli colours, it is more than a suggestion and it depends on him and that it has been talked about for a few months now.
Some reports have also linked him with a return to the Old Trafford, his most recent club in the European top-flight. It remains to be seen as to which team the 38-year-old joins. It is possible that the striker would find a new club by January 2020.
