The sport of boxing was dealt with a massive blow on Wednesday as six-time world champion and Hall of Famer Oscar De La Hoya has been accused of sexual harassment. Oscar had an incredible boxing career with 30 knockouts at the age of just 16 but the Golden Boy has shocked the world courtesy this new allegation levelled against him.  According to court documents, the woman who has filed the lawsuit against Oscar is 29 years old and she took the matter to court earlier this month in California. The lawsuit filed against Oscar De La Hoya accuses him of sexual assault, sexual battery, gender violence, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Boxing: Accusations on Oscar De La Hoya

According to the complainant, she was in a consensual relationship with De La Hoya during the time of the alleged assault in November 2017. The 29-year-old accused the world-renowned boxing promoter for molesting and forcing her into sexual activities after she refused to indulge in physical intimacy. According to her statement, the superstar boxing promoter invited her to see him in his new home in Padasenna and forced her in a sexual submission against her will. She further stated that Oscar was intoxicated at the moment and became more aggressive for performing a specific sex act.

Boxing: The Golden Boy’s response

The Golden Boy’s spokesman has denied all the allegations made against him to a leading media daily. According to him, Oscar is running one of the largest sports and entertainment companies in the world that has been the reason for this accusation. He has openly stated that the complainant wants nothing but fame and money. She is targeting an issue which is two years old just to earn something for herself. He also assured that they will vigorously defend Oscar Del Hoya’s good name and reputation.
