Philadelphia 76ers take on the Detroit Pistons in a pre-season NBA game on October 16. The two teams will face off at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The Sixers have a very strong line-up for the upcoming NBA season. Having Joel Embiid (7’0), Ben Simmons (6’10), Al Horford (6’10), Josh Richardson (6’6), and Tobias Harris (6’9) will mean that the Philadelphia 76ers will be well primed to become genuine contenders this season. The Sixers finished third in the Eastern Conference last season and will be looking to conquer this season, having had an eventful preseason so far.

The Sixers have arguably been short of a player who can score three-pointers. However, Ben Simmons seems to have come to the fore to solve this issue for the Sixers this season. After becoming the second-fastest player in NBA history to reach 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 1,000 assists, the towering Australian went on to score his first three-pointer in the game against Guangzhou Loong Lions. After dominating the Loong Lions in their preseason fixture, Simmons sent Twitter into a frenzy after scoring his first three, with seconds left on the clock.
Simmons has dominated the first few games of the Sixers' preseason. Joel Embiid is also fit and firing. Al Horford was one of the few people who looked well-equipped to slow down Embiid in the league but made the switch from Boston Celtics to Philadelphia 76ers this season. The omens are good for Philadelphia 76ers for the upcoming season.
