In what has been an all-round show from India so far against South Africa in the first Test match. The Indian batting passed the 500-run mark in the first innings and managed to reduce South Africa to 39/3 in the 20 overs that were bowled before play ended on Thursday. The star of yesterday's show was opener Mayank Agarwal who made his debut Test century and converted it into a double century.

Fellow cricketers react

From retired legends like Sachin Tendulkar to active players like KL Rahul, everyone was praising Mayank Agarwal's contribution to the team on their social media handles. Tendulkar mentioned how he was delighted to see the hard work Agarwal put into his skill since his debut last year. Karnataka and Kings XI Punjab teammate Rahul also congratulated Agarwal on Twitter.

IND vs SA: India dominate Proteas

The first Test which is in its third day has been dominated by India since the start. The first wicket partnership between Rohit Sharma and Agarwal was worth 317 runs. Even after Rohit was out, India managed to get past 500 before Virat Kohli chose to declare the innings. Agarwal was the top-scorer with his 215, while Rohit followed with his second-highest Test score of 176. After South Africa came out to bat, they were placed in a tough situation especially by spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin has only conceded 9 runs in eight overs and picked up the important wickets of Aiden Markram and Theunis de Bruyn. Play with begin on Friday with South Africa at 39-3. Opener Dean Elgar and Temba Bavuma are at the crease.
