ON THIS DAY in 2019, Anthony Joshua handed Andy Ruiz Jr. his belts during their final pre-fight press conference, ahead of his shock defeat at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Ruiz went onto produce one of the biggest shocks in heaveyweight boxing after knocking down British champion Joshua four times, with the final two knockouts coming in the seventh round proving to be the decisive blows.

Ruiz, the first heavyweight of Mexican descent to win a heavyweight title, capped one of boxing's epic upsets to win Joshua's shares of the heavyweight championship to hold the IBF, WBO and WBA world heavyweight titles.
