PKL 2019: Bengal Warriors beat Thalaivas to top PKL points table
On Wednesday, Bengal Warriors triumphed over Tamil Thalaivas and advanced to the first position of the PKL 2019 points table, overtaking Dabang Delhi KC.

Bengal Warriors defeated Tamil Thalaivas 33-29 on Wednesday, October 9. The 128th PKL 2019 match took place at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida (19:30 IST). With this victory, Bengal Warriors moved to the top of the PKL 2019 points table. Rinku Narwal’s defence, along with Sourabh Patil and Sukesh Hegde’s raiding, helped Bengal Warriors beat Tamil Thalaivas.

PKL 2019: Bengal Warriors vs Tamil Thalaivas match result
The first half witnessed back-to-back raids and tackles from both sides. Mohammad Nabibakhsh, who was the stand-in captain for Bengal Warriors, earned them two raid points and two tackle points early in the game. V Ajith Kumar also picked up a few points for Tamil Thalaivas. Sourabh Tanaji Patil, who scored 11 points during his debut match, managed to impress yet again by giving Bengal Warriors a two-point lead over Tamil Thalaivas. However, the score was tied 13-13 as the first half came to an end.

Bengal Warriors gained the lead early in the second half, bringing Tamil Thalaivas close to an all-out. It was Ran Singh’s Super Tackle on Nabibakhsh which brought his team back into the game. Tamil Thalaivas tried to decrease the score difference, but Bengal Warriors had a strong defence ready. Rinku Narwal’s High 5 after taking out Rahul Chaudhari at with around two minutes left to go gave Bengal a six-point lead. Sagar, the young defender from Tamil Thalaivas, completed his first High 5 at the 19th minute but was only able to lessen the score difference as Bengal Warriors advanced to the top of the PKL points table.
