UFC: Dana White uncertain about Conor McGregor-Donald Cerrone fight

Conor McGregor has been in news since past few weeks for his much-awaited UFC return. McGregor has been inactive since his humiliating loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 but a few weeks ago, the Irishman confirmed that he is going to return on January 18 but he did not take any names for his opponent. McGregor was eyeing to fight the winner off the BMF belt or the winner of Khabib vs Tony fight. However, it is Donald Cerrone’s name that seems to have really caught the former double champion’s attention. Conor McGregor showed his urge to fight ‘The Cowboy’ on his return and the UFC fans were very approving of it. UFC President Dana White has also liked the idea according to American media reports. However, will the fight really happen?

After his loss at the UFC 229, Conor had given a slight hint about fighting Donald Cerrone. Cerrone loved the idea too but after a bit of buzz, everything went silent. While the buzz is again back on track, UFC President Dana White has described his thoughts on Conor McGregor’s return. According to Dana, there are no developments between UFC and Conor McGregor about the opponent he will face on his return on January 18 in Las Vegas. The former double champ Conor McGregor and UFC President Dana White want to book the fight with Cerrone but there is zero progress for the fight in making. Cerrone sent out a message to McGregor by telling him “to sign the damn deal”.
UFC: What next for Conor McGregor?
Well, it seems legitimate that UFC still has not finalised an opponent against Conor McGregor. After the recently happened UFC 244, Conor McGregor took to Twitter and called out Jorge Masvidal for a match even as the latter believes that the former is a little man and can easily beat him up in a fight. However, until there is no paperwork finalised to confirm the fight, McGregor's opponent continues to remain a mere speculation.
